Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the best time to enroll my child?
Due to waiting lists, it's best to register your child as soon as possible. Since childcare center Kindertuin does not charge registration fees or fees for being placed on the waiting list, registering your child as soon as possible is always advisable. You can always cancel free of charge with a notice period of 1 month.
How and where can I apply for childcare allowance?
You can apply for childcare allowance at www.toeslagen.nl through the Tax and Customs Administration. After filling in the necessary details, you can see exactly how much you will be paying net for childcare. You can also apply for the allowance on this website. Be sure to apply for the allowance within 3 months of the start of childcare.
You will receive the invoice from childcare center Kindertuin according to their billing cycle, and the amount will be debited from your account accordingly.
The invoices are sent around the first week of the month. For the preschools and midday supervision, the invoice amount is automatically debited from your account around the 20th of each month. For childcare and after-school care, the invoice amount is automatically debited from your account around the 25th of each month.
Can I have my child attend an extra day in addition to the days specified in the contract?
If you want to have your child in additional care for a one-time occurrence, you can request this via email from the unit coordinator of the relevant location. The unit coordinator will provide you with a response based on the number of children and the schedule.
The payment for occasional extra care is done by filling out a direct debit authorization form. This will be invoiced on the monthly invoice later. This amount is also eligible for reimbursement from the tax authorities.
For applying for the allowance, I need the LRKP number of the location. Where can I find this?
You can find this number on the location page.
I have a complaint. Where can I address this?
If you have a complaint about a specific location, we ask you to first discuss your complaint with a staff member working there, such as a childcare professional or the unit coordinator.
If you have already done so but are not satisfied, you can always contact our Planning & Advice department. We are always ready to assist you and resolve the issue.
As a last resort, you can use an external complaints procedure. You can request information about this from the Planning & Advice department.
You can download the complaints regulations here.
In case of irregular work schedules of parents, is it possible to bring the child on varying days?
Yes, you can arrange a flexible contract for that. You don't specify fixed days, but rather an average number of sessions per week. Hereby, you can reserve your sessions for the upcoming week via the parentapp of Flexkids until Thursday of the preceding week. If you don't use all the sessions in a particular month, you can carry them over to the next month.
The flexible contract has a higher hourly rate than a regular contract. However, you still pay a fixed amount per month and are eligible for a generous allowance.
Is it possible to bring my child to the daycare on alternating days, for example, on Wednesdays during odd weeks and on Thursdays during even weeks?
Yes, this is possible when it's the same day every even week and the same day every odd week. You can indicate this on the registration form. You should indicate in the "remarks" field on which day your child will attend in the even weeks and on which day your child will attend in the odd weeks.
If the days change more frequently than in even and odd weeks, you can arrange a flexible contract, where you can specify on a weekly basis which sessions your child will attend in the following week.
How can I communicate a change or termination of my child's contract?
Communicating changes in session times, requesting structural additional sessions, and similar matters should always be done in writing to Kindercentrum Kindertuin, Planning & Advice department, Jan Kruijsenstraat 15, 5281 JL Boxtel, or via email to planning&advies@kindertuin.com We take into account the notice period of 1 month when processing changes.
I would like to swap a day (session)? Is that possible?
Exchanging sessions is allowed up to 3 times per year within a period of 1 month. Public holidays are excluded from the 3 days that can be exchanged per year. A public holiday can always be exchanged if it falls on a contracted day.
If you want to exchange a session on a one-time basis, you should request this (preferably by email) from the unit coordinator. Based on the group size and the caregiver/child ratio, the unit coordinator will approve or decline your request.
Exchanging sessions is always done in consultation with the unit coordinator and subject to availability. Exchanges are not possible in case of illness. Requests for exchanges must be submitted prior to the relevant dates. Requests submitted afterwards will be rejected.
When can my child not attend childcare due to the risk of contagious diseases?
There are diseases where we need to exclude children due to the risk of contagion. We follow the advice of the RIVM (RIVM-LCHV Hygiene guideline for daycare, preschool, and after-school care) in this regard. In the 'KIDDI' app developed by the RIVM for this purpose, you can view advice for each illness and whether the child in question should be excluded.
For further questions, please contact your child's location.
