Childcare allowance
How many childcare hours do I receive childcare allowance for?
You can receive reimbursement for up to a maximum of 230 childcare hours per month and per child. This maximum applies from 2023 to everyone eligible for childcare allowance. It no longer matters how many hours you work. And it also doesn't matter whether you, for example, work or study.
My child attends daycare for more than 230 hours per month
You will receive allowance for a maximum of 230 hours per month. If your child attends daycare for more hours, you will not receive allowance for those additional hours.
My child attends daycare for less than 230 hours per month.
Then you will only receive allowance for the hours stated in your contract with the childcare provider.
Using up childcare hours
Are you using less than 230 childcare hours per month? You can use up the remaining hours throughout the year. This can be useful, for example, if you or your partner stop working and you no longer qualify for childcare allowance.
